The Heroines

Gilda Blanco Muci

is honored with a Brick from Darren Muci.

Gilda Blanco Muci was born in East Los Angeles, California in 1960 and is the eldest of six siblings; all girls. Her parents, Gilbert and Hilda Blanco provided her with a loving home and early opportunities to be involved in their church, community, and support of the challenges of other Mexican-Americans in southern California.

Upon graduation from high school, Gilda attended classes at East Los Angeles College while working in the retail field. Eventually, through her hard work, loyalty, and merchandising capabilities, Gilda became a department manager for a large regional department store chain. It was during this time that she met a young man from Kansas who had recently moved to California. Their friendship became serious. When he was offered the opportunity to return to Kansas for a job in the education field, Gilda postponed her career to relocate. Shortly thereafter, they married; later having two beautiful, bright, children. She has since devoted her time to being the best mother possible, volunteering in classrooms as a room mother or to assist in educating other students.

She is a TREMENDOUSLY devoted mother and wife. Her support of her husband and children knows no boundaries. She is also a WONDERFUL cook!!!

In addition to taking care of her immediate family, she stays in close contact with her parents, sisters, and nieces and nephews, visiting them in California when she can. Her children "LOVE HER LOTS AND FOREVER." As her husband, I am thankful to have met her; she is, and always will be, my "bud!"
