Kay Arvin has, from the beginning of her practice, specialized in the field of Family Law with an emphasis on marital counseling and mediation. The last several years of her practice were exclusively limited to mediation, both pre and post divorce, dealing with all aspects of family life, including contested child custody matters. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Family Law Section, state and local Bar Associations. Some of her distinctions include the following:

Listed in “Best Lawyers in America,” a publication that names lawyers chosen by their peers as best representatives of their field of practice.

First female lawyer to argue a case in the State Supreme Court and won.

Appointed by Governor Robert Bennett to interim as a judge of the District Court.

Kay was the first woman to serve as a judge of the District Court.

Recipient of Brotherhood Award by National Council of Christians and Jews.

Appointed by Governor Joan Finney as chairman of the newly established Governor’s Battered Women Advisory Committee.

Winner of the Wingwalker Award of the Forum of Executive Women.

Recipient of the Women of Distinction Award by the Soroptimist International of Wichita because of her strong belief with helping women advance in their lives through education.

Kay is an exceptional woman and has touched many lives through sincerity, compassion, and desire to make those lives better. Kay has been able to do all these accomplishments as a blind person.
