     Born in Wichita, Kansas. Attended grade school in Wichita until the family moved to the farm out on South Hydraulic. Attended a two room school (Riverside) 4th to 8th grade. Graduated with seven students. Quite a shock to attend 9th grade in Wichita. Graduated from High School East and then Wichita University. Joined Pi Kappa Psi Sorority. She received many various honors including Homecoming Queen in 1950. Shirley and Bill Geist introduced Norma and Bill Smith at Wichita University and they were married in 1951.

     She graduated as a P.E. Teacher and returned to East High as a girls gym teacher. Next was transferred to West High when it opened, developing programs, the pep club and cheerleader sponsor. A very active inspirational staff member in physical education department.

     She was the successful and productive president and owner of a large corporation for 30 years in Kansas City.

     Blessed with four children before moving to Leawood in the Kansas City area. Eventually their four children married and moved to California, Texas, Nebraska and Augusta. When they retired, they returned to Wichita. They live in five acres off of Santa Fe Lake Road and are thrilled to be back home. An excellent care taker of family, young and old as well as a very good friend.
