 Betty Austin Hensley Betty Austin Hensley is honored as a heroine because of her strength of character, her conviction to live life to its fullest and her ability to bring out the best in those around her. As a mother, grandmother, flute teacher and professional musician and performer, she shares her love of music and teaches all to appreciate it as the noblest of the arts.

As the owner/performer of "Flutes of the World," a collection of over 400 ethnic and antique flutes, she helps preserve and celebrate the use of music in a variety of cultures and time periods. Through her music and world-wide performances, she recognizes and honors the diversity of the world as well as its music.

Betty Austin Hensley is a matriarch of a family that includes three boys and nine grandchildren. She is a role-model for all of us with the way she conducts her life and is the family's strength in times of trouble. She preserves family traditions and guides us with her wisdom.

She is active In her church and community and conducts all aspects of her life in an extraordinary way. For giving the gift of "roots" which has enabled us to grow and flourish, we honor her as our heroine.
