Charlene Holt From Rhetta F. McNeal
CHARLENE = C is for Caring; H is for her big heart; A is for her Awesomeness; R is for Respect; L is for her Loving; E is for Everlasting Love; N is for Number One Mom; E is for her eternal Love. Mama, your love will always be alive in my heart.

From Marilyn A. Dunn
Our mother had many wonderful qualities. The ones I most admired were her strength and independence. Even with being a wife and mother of ten, she was always able to maintain her independence and keep up her strength.

From Theodore B. Holt
Mama's Love:
Mama's love is something I can't quite explain, but I do believe it was made of deep devotion and, of course, sacrifice and pain. It was endless and unselfish, enduring come what may, there was nothing that could destroy it, or take that love away. It was patient and forgiving, when all others were forsaking, and it never failed or faltered even though at times, I'm sure, the heart was breaking. It believed beyond believing when the world around condemned, and it glowed with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gem. It was far beyond defining, it defies all explanation, and it still remains a secret like the mysteries of Creation; many splendid miracles I cannot understand, but it's got to be another wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand. That's what made Her my hero! Her Love.

From Ronald W. Holt
In Memory of My Mother, Charlene Holt
A Mother is one who understands the things you say and do. Who always overlooks your faults and sees the best in you... A Mother is one whose special love inspires you day by day, Who fills your heart with happiness in her warm and thoughtful way... A Mother is all these things and more, the greatest treasure known... And the dearest Mother ever in all the world is the one I called my own. Love forever!

From Roger E. Holt
My Mother was life at it's best. She brought me smiles when a smile was exactly what I needed. She always knew the perfect thing to do. She could make my whole day just by saying something that no one else could have said. Sometimes I felt like the two of us shared a secret language that no one else could tune into. My Mother was a wonderful gift that brought me happiness and treasures that money could not buy. Mama (Charlene) I Love you. Your youngest son, Roger Ezell

From J. Renee Jones
Ephesians 5:21-24: [Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, be subject to your husbands as you are to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the Church, the body of which he is the Savior. Just as the church is subject to Christ, so also wives ought to be, in everything, to their husbands.]
I remember how Mama always seemed to be at home caring for her family. She was my security. When Daddy got up in the mornings she always had his breakfast cooked and his lunch fixed for him to go to work. When he came home in the evenings his bath was ready and soon after, his supper. The laundry was done and the house was clean. She was a living example for me of a nurturing mother and supportive wife. It is after her example that I try to pattern my own life. God blessed me when he let me be born to my mother. She will always live in my heart.

From Wanda J. Hughes
My mother is my heroine because of her wonderful gift to find the good in all situations and people. I loved her gentleness, her warmth and her great capacity for compassion. She loved her family deeply, and she was always there when there was trouble. She had such strength not only of will but of character. Her spirituality, her strength is an inspiration in my life. My mother has been gone for 18 years, but the memory of her is still fresh in my mind and my heart. I will love her always.

From Brenda J. Holt-Higgins
She was a caring, loving person to everyone and always taught us to be honest. She was my confidant, my friend and my backbone. I'll always treasure her memory and she'll always be in my heart. I talk to my daughter about her all the time, so she'll know her Grandmother. I miss her a lot. I love you, Mama!

From Glenda L. Holt-Hill
Mama is my Heroine because she was a spiritual and honest woman. She had a compassionate caring heart and soul. Mama's whole persona was enlightening. She loved and cared not only for her kids deeply, but for everyone. She gave her kids good values and morals. I know I can speak for all of us when I say if any of us strayed from those assets, seeing her in our mind's eye steered us back to what we knew to be right from wrong. She's always with me no matter what I'm doing or where I'm at. I love her and miss her deeply as much now as then. Sometimes we'll be talking, saying things like, we wish Mama (and Daddy) had encouraged us more in going to college or learning an instrument or just being more outgoing and involved in whatever, but it came to me that my (our) focus needed to turn to the important values she taught me (us), like God's Love, Caring, Love for one another and Honesty. Mama may not be here physically, but she'll always be here in my Heart and Mind. I still talk to her in prayer and in general. I'll Love her, miss her, and need her always.

From Lisa F. Holt-Ash
I can't express all the things Mama meant to me in a mere paragraph. I love her and will miss her always.
