Jeanne Lobmeyer Cardenas
is honored with a Medium Paver from Michael P. Cardenas.
My wife, Jeanne Lobmeyer Cardenas, is one of those rare individuals whose feelings, thoughts, and actions, demonstrate that she constructed her life on the foundation of her spiritual resources and her love for humanity. She is a loving wife and a devoted daughter.
She plunged herself into a whirlwind of action, as a newspaper reporter and as an educator, teaching at all levels grade school, high school, and college.
As the Chairperson of the English and Communications Department at what is now Newman University, she was both an educator and a master. As an educator she transmitted to her students the theory and methods of the language. As a master she taught them how to live that discipline. As an instructor she taught, as a master she educated.
As the college newspaper's faculty advisor, she taught future writers to chronicle that which matters, whether in acclamation or commiseration, pointing out that language may be either birdsong or jackhammer.
Together we recognize the past with pleasant memories and reminiscences, we face the present with ideas and concepts, and we anticipate the future with expectations and dreams.
