Ruth Maxine Gates
is honored with a Brick from J.R. and Rhita Muci.
Ruth Maxine Gates, mother of Rhita Muci and grandmother of Darren Muci and Lisa Diane Muci, was the kind of mother and grandmother that everyone should have. She practiced what she preached, she lived what she taught. She was loving and kind and almost generous to a fault. She did her best to help all who requested anything from her. She was never judgmental, seldom expressed anger. She was beautiful inside and out.
As a mother she made sure that her one daughter had as much as she could possibly give her a pleasant home, nice clothes, exposure to cultural events, travel, music and dance lessons, books, and college. She worked whatever jobs were available no honest job was too menial and she did it proudly with her head held high. Although she left school as a teenager to support herself, she completed her GED after her daughter was an adult. She was an avid reader and taught herself well. Besides her family, her interests included her church, drama and the arts.
She gave much in her short lifetime and asked for little in return. She was loved and respected by many. She was a wonderful grandmother who dearly loved her two grandchildren and her son-in-law and shared herself and whatever she had with them.
Those who knew Ruth Gates were fortunate.
