Rhita J. Muci
is honored with a Brick from Darren Muci, J.R. Muci, and Lisa Muci
Rhita J. Muci is the loving wife of J.R. Muci, and loving (and FAVORITE) mother of Lisa Diane Muci-Eckhoff and Darren C. Muci. She is also a wonderful "Nanny" to two grandsons and a very special dog named Zagala.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Rhita fought racism and other odds to seek an advanced education in the library science field. While in college at Pittsburg (Kansas) State University, she met a handsome young man by the name of J. R. Muci. Shortly after both graduated, they married, eventually making Wichita, Kansas their home. To this union, two bright children were born. My sister and I were blessed, and fortunate, to be raised in a loving home and receive a strong religious background to carry forward to our children and/or lives of others.
Mother began a career in teaching with the Wichita Public School District as a librarian. She worked diligently to provide reference training skills to literally thousands of students in grades K through 12. To this day, many of her former students remember her for the creative teaching methods she brought to this field. Through her hard work and creativity, she was named Acting Director of Library Media Services later in her career.
During her career, while working full-time and raising two children, she returned to Wichita State University to pursue a Master's degree in Counseling. She never once lessened her personal commitment in seeing that her two children, husband, and church, received one hundred percent of her attention and support!
Though now retired, Rhita remains active in the community and church. She enjoys spending free time reading, playing with and educating her grandsons, gardening, and learning to use her personal computer!
As her first born, I am proud to be her son and thank her for "putting up with me" all of these years. There is NO ONE like her. She is the BEST mother around.
