Mary McCarty Harris

Mary McCarty Harris was born in 1919 in Stanberry, Missouri. She was one of eleven children born to James and Gertrude McCarty. In 1943 she married Charles William Harris by whom she had two sons, Charles Fleming Harris and John Vincent Harris.
The guiding principle of her life has been, service to others. As a loving wife, mother and nana, she has served her family with love and devotion. As a school and community volunteer, she has worked to improve the lives of those around her. As an American Red Cross Volunteer, she donated over 25,000 hours of her time to help those who have sacrificed for our country. In every part of her life, Mary McCarty Harris has truly been a heroine, not only to her family but to all her fellow citizens who came in contact with her.
