Carol Robinson Ablah
is honored with a Brick from Elizabeth Ablah
Carol Robinson Ablah was born and raised in Hill City, Kansas. She went to Fort Hays State University for two years and then moved to Kansas City to finish her degree in dental hygiene. Carol loved working as a dental hygienist, and she loved spending time with her many girlfriends. After moving to Wichita, she fell in love with and married Amil Ablah, and they began their own family. Carol dropped her career to raise and care for their children. She dedicated her heart, soul, and body to raising their children. When their youngest child was finishing high school, Carol decided to return to the workforce. She renewed her dental hygiene license, and she became the first graduate of the Master of Public Health-Kansas program! Soon, she was asked to serve as the executive director for the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN), a non-profit organization that serves women who have been in abusive relationships and are ready to make the financial break. She built WIN into a very successful organization; women received an education or training, and they were provided with a job. She taught women to work on looms and to package food products that would then be sold and would benefit the organization. After retiring, Carol continues to enjoy her family and friends, but she has made more time to read books, work puzzles, watch British dramas, and care for her favorite grand-dog, Obie. Carol Robinson Ablah is a friend and role model to many, and she is a best friend to a lucky few.
