Winnie Winters Thornburg
is honored with a Brick from John and Mary Ellen Sheaks.
The word indomitable always comes to my mind when I think of my Mother. She was a Rock of Gibraltar in my life.
She loved people and was a great factor in helping parents understand their children in her role of teacher and long-time principal of College Hill Elementary School.
She loved to entertain and made wonderful biscuits, chili and lemon pies. She loved any kind of card game and taught them to her grandchildren. In our at-home years, we always had a volleyball net in our backyard.
She loved life and met many challenges head-on. We're glad to honor her memory.
