Erma Wulz
is honored with a Brick from the Wulz kids.
Erma Wulz married Ralph M. Wulz and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary a few months before his death. Erma and Ralph had four children: Nellie J. Wolf, LaNita G. Mark, Dan L. Wulz, and Sherry L. Orchard. At this time, there are eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Erma Wulz, my mother, gave me the most important gift a mother can give a child: the ability to think independently. She is the quintessential mom: patient, kind and she read to me.

These are the things I think of when I think of my mother:
Listening to her play the Missouri Waltz and the Boogie Woogie on the piano.
Having to eat an awful sandwich at the neighbors the ONLY day she didn't have lunch prepared for me when I came home from school (she had a doctor's appointment).
Sunbathing.
Chocolate chip cookies and Snickerdoodles.
Sewing costumes for recitals and school events.
Popcorn and fudge while listening to the radio on Sunday evenings.
Books and the joy of reading.
Homemade candy, cookies, and desserts at Christmas time.
Photograph albums and mom recording each important family event with her camera.
Picnics along the creek in Colorado.
Eating wonderful home cooked meals together as a family.
Mother and Daddy dancing in the living room.
Beautiful flowers and fresh produce from the garden.
Russell Stover's chocolates.
Music.
Going to mom's for a week of good food, help, and support after giving birth to each of my children.
And the immeasurable help she freely gave to me when I was moving.
These are all gifts and memories which I cherish. She taught us values such as responsibility, saving money, honesty, dependability, caring, and giving. Her enormous generosity has made all of our lives easier and, though we don't thank her often enough, we appreciate all she has done for us. All of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren know they can always get plenty of attention and a great meal at her house.
