Susan Fischer-Lukens
is honored with a Brick from Cory Lukens and Adam Lukens.
Our mom Susan Fischer-Lukens turned 50 not long ago and we decided to honor her with a brick in the Plaza of Heroines. The birthday cards we gave her about say it all:
From her son, Adam: "I was going to put all of the candles on your birthday cake myself... But I was afraid of getting carpal tunnel syndrome. Happy Birthday, Anyway!" "You're getting up there in years, but at least you can still hear out of both ears and you are aware of things around you (i.e. your son's great achievements!) Happy FIFTY. Love, Adam"
From her daughter, Cory: "Happy Birthday, Mother. M is for the million meals you made for me. O is for all the overtime you put in. T is for the times you didn't kill me. H is for the headaches, chills, and thrills. E is for the energy you used up. R is for running errands all around. Put them all together, they spell... I don't know how you (I) survived but I'm awfully glad you're my mother. With Love!" "Thanks for everything! Even though this is 5-0, you don't look it! But you could take my advice once in a while! Happy B-day! Love, Cory"
Believe it or not, we love our mom a lot and we have a lot of fun. She can be tough on us at times (and vice versa) but she is always there for us (except when she is away on trips which is every chance she gets!) Without a doubt, she BELONGS in the Plaza which, by the way, she spent many hours helping to create.
