After raising four boys there was nothing in life more important to Mom than supporting the Shockers. No bigger fan ever existed!
From the 50's on, going to every WU and then WSU football and basketball game was Mom and Dad's top priority. When Dad died, Mom's enthusiasm never waivered for her Shockers.
She traveled to away games when she could and never missed a home game. She lived and died with her "boys." No one enjoyed the victories more and suffered the losses harder.
As she got older and it became difficult for her to get to games, she would listen on the radio, never missing one. If it got tense, she would go out in the hall of her apartment and pace, stick her head back in to hear a score and pace some more. When the phone would ring during a game or after, we knew it was Mom wanting to talk "Shocker talk."
We know Mom's spirit is out here on campus, particularly on game nights!
