Helen Buell
is honored with a Brick from Greg Buell.
A testimony to the meaning of my mother's life lies in the love and sharing given freely to others. Born Helen M. Morgan in rural Iowa, my mother was raised in a loving farm tradition, where church and extended family came together as community. Helen graduated from Upper Iowa University in 1941 after being chosen their first homecoming queen. She married James B. Buell in 1944 and raised three children. She taught elementary school in Iowa for 30 years.
After moving to Wichita in retirement in 1985, Mother has devoted her time and energy to grandchildren, family, church and her PEO sisters. Her legacy is the selfless sharing and caring she has demonstrated through her years in education and devoted service to family and others. I was blessed to be raised in the shelter of my mother's home.
