Mary Smith
is honored with a Brick from Steve, Alan, Sarah, Mark, Kevin, David, Jason, Vicki, Andy, Erika, Laura, Rick, Lindsay, Megan, Matthew, Lisa, Kayla, Hannah, Mackenzie, Dalton, and Emma.
We would like to induct our mother, Mary Smith, into the Plaza of Heroines. She has many excellent qualities that make her an extraordinary person. She has loved and raised six children and given them the guidance to become responsible caring adults. She overcame her own childhood perils to become the most caring and loving mother we could ever want.
She was on the PTA, an active room mother, den mother to many during several of the Boy Scout years, chauffeur, guidance counselor, maid, and number one cheerleader for us all. Having six children, she was able to experience the joy of these activities several times over.
While raising the six of us, she still made the time to pursue her own interests, such as painting, ceramics, and continuing her education. She took great pride in these other interests and was always very talented at whatever she did.
Our house was the place where everyone played, and when other parents didn't want their yard used for kickball, softball, and other children activities, Mom knew these things were more important than the perfect yard. We now know that a beautiful yard was important to her because she currently spends many hours gardening, but while we were growing up, we were the priority.
She has twelve grandchildren. These children think Grandma's is The Place to go; a place where each are made to feel special and important. Grandma will gladly play a game of Scrabble, Candy Land, color, or just listen to them.
All these things and many more, too many to list, make her a Heroine to us. We want to acknowledge the great things she has done for us. The sacrifices she has made for us have not gone unnoticed. She is truly a Heroine.
