Kathryn Pearcy Griffith
is honored with a Brick from Mary Frances Pearcy.
My heroine is my sister who, after surviving childish spats, became my best friend and companion. She is generous and loving and always there for me. She listens to my problems and helps find solutions to them. I doubt that there is a better sister anywhere.
Kathryn Pearcy Griffith spent her professional life at Wichita State University. After graduating from Wichita University and taking a Master's degree in Public Administration at the University of Syracuse, she returned to WU. Her duties have included a variety of interesting things. As Assistant to the President and Budget Officer, her work ranged from managing the University cafeteria one summer to helping with the successful effort to gain admission into the state university system.
She earned her Ph.D. at the University of Chicago and, upon returning, began to teach a full schedule of classes. While on the faculty, she served as a member of a number of committees, as Chair of the Political Science department, and as a member and President of the Faculty Senate.
Kathryn is retired as Professor Emeritus and has a whole new range of activities and interests.
