Alice Cromwell Chandler
is honored with a Large Paver from Mr. C.Q. "Chuck" Chandler III.
My mother, Alice Cromwell Chandler, devoted her life to helping others. She particularly worked with children. She loved them, and because of her gentle ways and diminutive size, they all loved her. She worked as a volunteer in a variety of worthwhile activities including Wesley Hospital, the Institute of Logopedics, First Presbyterian Church and the American Red Cross. She devoted more than 20,000 volunteer hours at Wesley Hospital alone. She was the kind of woman who could walk into a room where a baby was crying, and she would know exactly what it needed .
Mother married her high school sweetheart, C.J. Chandler, and devoted herself to him and to my brother Jerome and me, and our families. Her strong Christian beliefs guided our lives and made our home and our community a better place in which to live.
