Alyce Bridgman
is honored with a Brick from Jennifer Gillson.
My grandmother, Alyce Bridgman, inspired me to be strong in this modern world.
She was a woman who was born in the 1920s and came from a background of strong women of Bohemian descent.
She instilled in me "to always be proper," how to set the table correctly for guests and family and to have a strong business sense.
Because she ran a family-owned furniture and gift store, she taught me about selling, display and marketing. And more particularly about work etiquette. She allowed me to absorb retail business throughout the 26 years of my life.
I appreciate, love her, and thank her for making me the strong person I am today. I have missed her greatly in this last year, but am glad she knew that she was being placed in the Plaza of Heroines, as she is definitely a heroine to me.
