Naomi W. Carpenter

is honored with a Medium Paver from E. Sue Benish and Naomi Carpenter.

To have the Plaza of Heroines at Wichita State University to honor women in our lives is perfect. Naomi Carpenter spent the majority of her career in educational facilities, retiring from WSU in 1984 after 18 years of service. The library's location is a reflection of her personality: quiet, loving, always willing to help, and forever wanting to gain more knowledge in all aspects of her life.

Although the road through our lives has not always been easy, we have learned from Naomi the strength to do what needed to be done, to value the importance of family, and to strive to make our lives a worthwhile contribution to our community.

It is my pleasure to convey the love from her children and grandchildren and to close with the hope that she takes as much pleasure in being honored as we did in making the gift.
