Phyllis M. Jacobs
is honored with a Brick from Louis J. Jacobs.
Phyllis M. Jacobs is a loving wife, devoted mother of Julie Ann and Matthew, and a dedicated educator in the field of psychiatric nursing. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BS in Nursing, and an MS in Psychiatric Nursing from Washington University, St. Louis, MO. She has been on the faculty of Missouri Baptist School of Nursing, St. Louis University, Millikin University in Decatur, IL, and Wichita State University.
She has been a leader of the Nurses' Christian Fellowship, and is an Elder in the Presbyterian Church USA. She has frequently participated in preparation of the National Nursing Licensing Exam, and has authored papers and textbooks in psychiatric nursing. She has been active in professional activities while devoting extensive time to her son who has major ongoing health concerns.
She is a person who strives for excellence, while maintaining a "big picture" view of situations. She is an avid golfer, enjoys playing tennis, looks forward to spending time in the mountains of Colorado, and laments that the Shockers do not play more baseball games in "good weather."
